Its been almost 7 months.. 7 months since I left my completely stable job of 9 years and opted to stay at home with my boys and work on growing my two businesses. Yes, I said two. This blog is of course my business but I am also a photographer. I enjoy doing both and while I miss the adult interaction of the previous job, I wouldn’t trade this for the world.
The first couple of months after I took that leap of faith were hard but fun. It was hard to get used to not seeing that check every 2 weeks. Essentially, we became a one income family: Not that I don’t make any money with what I do… however, a large chunk of money was no longing coming in. My husband was now the primary money-maker and I personally think that put a little more stress on him then I knew about.
After a couple of months, we finally didn’t feel like it was so hard. My husband started her first semester in grad school, Hayden started the 2nd grade and even Noah started part-time preschool.
It was a huge learning experience switching from a full time working mom to a work at home soccer mom (literally). I guess I should say basketball mom now. Stay turned to learn what I’ve been up to my help turn my home into a well-oiled machine.
