Visit my house one day.
Somewhere in your visit, whether it is minutes or hours, you will spot a toy car. You know, the HotWheel or Matchbox.. maybe a model car in there somewhere. People have always been safe buying them anything to do with cars when it comes to a birthday gift. Why? Because my boys love to play with cars.
I’m not sure where this came from exactly. It isn’t like my husband made them play with them. And I don’t believe that just because they are boys, they HAVE to play with cars.
I believe they are truly interested in cars. Hayden will build cars with his legos and loved it when he got something he could take apart and put together. Noah is starting to get to that point. They own hundreds of cars. Maybe thousands but I’ve never counted. One of their favorites is Disney Pixar Cars toys.
They play in their playroom for hours: Making roads, having accidents.. just using their imagination. It is one of my favorite things that they do. They are both really into watching television, playing on a tablet or just plain playing video games. It’s hard to get them to play. However, if we take them to a store and tell them to pick out a car or 2, they could stand there for hours. I’m glad it isn’t an expensive hobby.
Hayden turns 16 in 7 years. I can’t wait to take him to a place like East Hills Subaru to pick out his first car. Knowing him, he’ll know exactly what he wants and have money saved up to pay for it. I’m praying he stays the wonderful kid he is and we can help him pick out his car. Oh, now I’m tearing up.
I love that my boys have a passion for all things cars, even if I get tired of the car talk all day long. Seriously, can we get through dinner without talking about cars, please? What is something your children are passionate about?
