I was given tickets to a screening to see the movie before it was released. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
I am an avid viewer of Marvel movies. Most of the time, I get the chance to see them with my brother or my husband. Both of them love them just as much as me. So I was totally looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 when I heard it was being made. I loved the first one, so of course, I had to see vol 2.
A quick synopsis before I dive into my review:
Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians are hired by a powerful alien race, the Sovereign, to protect their precious batteries from invaders. When it is discovered that Rocket has stolen the items they were sent to guard, the Sovereign dispatch their armada to search for vengeance. As the Guardians try to escape, the mystery of Peter’s parentage is revealed.
My review:
First of all, How cute is baby Groot? OMG I think Groot was my favorite part of the whole movie. I also loved how they all took care of baby Groot especially since he had to start over because he saved all of them. It works out great. They all treat each other like family and it’s great to see.
This movie made me laugh like no other. I love a good dose comedy in these types of movies. I thought it had the perfect amount with plenty of action for everyone.
Here’s Paul’s take on the movie:
I thought it was pretty good. I could tell they tried to make it more emotional than previous marvel movies. The theme of family showed up all throughout the movie with star lord and his dad, and then his connection to Zandu and then to the rest of his team. I liked that the relationships seemed more complex than in previous movies.
