Disclosure: I received the NuNAAT products for review. There was no other compensation. All opinions listed below are my own.
Its official. I have been natural for 2 years now. My last relaxer was done in September of 2011 and I have been happily natural. It hasn’t been an easy journey but it has been my journey and I’m happy that I’ve had the chance to try out products throughout the years that have both agreed and disagreed with my hair. Everyone’s hair is different so read my take on the NuNAAT Real Me Curl to Coil products and then try them for yourself.
I pride myself on trying to use the most natural products in my hair so when I was approached by NuNAAT to review their products, I checked out their ingredients before agreeing to the review. This new collection is Free of Sulfates, Mineral Oils, Parabens and Sodium Chloride. So once I got the package, I took some time looking through the products and started by trying the shampoo and conditioner first.
This is my hair shampoo’d and conditioned. I don’t shampoo my hair often but sometimes its needed. I haven’t been able to find a shampoo that I love but I think this Lather Up & Hydrate Shampoo comes close. My biggest pet peeve with a shampoo is that is cleanses but leaves my hair dry. I love that my hair just feels clean. The conditioner does exactly what it says: softens, hydrates and detangles. It works very well with the shampoo. I tried using just the conditioner (like I normally do) and it depends what I’ve done with my hair whether or not it works for me.
My favorite of the products is the natural curl activator. The difference between my just washed curls and once I use the activator is immediate and obvious. As you can see from the photo above, My curls come alive and show off my curl pattern. I love using it when I plan on having part or all of my hair out. Here is a photo of my hair after using it for a funky 80’s type of hair style.
Ignore the almost bored look on my face. I either look bored or like I’m fake smiling when I do “selfies” LOL. I used the perfect do pomade to smooth out my edges and make sure everything was flowing the same way. I love using it for my edges and touch ups so I don’t have to take out my huge jug of gel out. I also like that it doesn’t “wet” my hair. The only thing I haven’t discussed is the Blast of Shine Hair Mask and the Pick Me Up Sheen. I like both; I like the way my curls look when the hair mask is in and I like the feel of the mask. I don’t really feel a difference in my hair when I use it. I’m not saying it doesn’t work, I just don’t notice a difference with me. Same with the sheen. It does make my hair shiny when I put it in but other than that, I don’t notice a difference.
Overall, I do like the collection and would continue to use it. You can check out this collection (and all the others) on the NuNAAT website. You can also follow them on their social networks: Facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest and youtube.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
