Back in February, we unexpectedly had to buy my husband a new car.
Long story short: We had planned on buying one right after his graduation. My car would be on its last payment and we’d basically just be switching payments to another car. But plans are just that: plans. When his car’s repairs weren’t worth the money (especially since we were planning to trade it in a couple months later), we decided to look for a car then and there.
While searching for a new car on the web, there were plenty of places we looked just to get an idea of different features on cars. For instance: While the 2014 Lexus GS has 10 airbags which are perfect for our family, buying a Lexus from Atlantic Lexus wasn’t in the cards for it because it would have been a little expensive. So check out these safety features we made sure were inside our new car.
The LATCH system is one of my favorite things in cars. I have 2 children in car seats. The LATCH system makes sure that your car seat stays in place at any time. Not many people know this but the system also works great with pets! You can connect their leashes to it and bam, they can’t go anywhere!
I’ve already mentioned how Safety Belts save lives. But the newer the car, the better the seat belts are. There is always some new upgrade that has been added to the newer cars to save a life. For instance, I love how the seat belt locks up when you break. Making sure you lose any slack and don’t go flying through the dash.
Just in case you don’t love staring at your tires all the time, Tire-Pressure Monitors make it easier for you. Your car will tell you if the pressure on low on one of your tires. Right now, it doesn’t tell you which one, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t more than one. Perfect time to get them all checked.
Have you felt Anti-lock Breaks? The first time I used them, they freaked me out. But they are useful. They keep your breaks from locking up. In the end, it is safer stopping for all.
