I am a part of the MommyCon Bloggers Collective. I was given media tickets to attend MommyCon Chicago. All opinions are my own.
I attended MommyCon Chicago which was March 2nd through 4th.
This was my 3rd MommyCon (and my 4th event with them) and happened to be the best one yet. Why would I say that? Because I took advantage of everything they had to offer and loved it. If you’ve never heard of it, MommyCon is the largest natural parenting convention in the US. You’ll experience the feeling of community while learning about birth, baby- wearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, and feel confident in your parenting decisions.
This is why I put together 3 things you must do when attending MommyCon. While you can’t attend Chicago this year, you can find MommyCon in New York, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Pasadena, Orlando, and San Diego.
1. Find a session to fit your situation and attend it!
The first 2 times I attended MommyCon, I have to admit that I didn’t really pay attention to many of the sessions. However, this time the first thing I did was check out the session list. They had sessions for everyone: If you are a new or expectant mom, you can learn about giving birth and cloth diapering. Have a toddler? Learn about picky eating and potty training.
There is a babywearing room where you can get help learning how to wrap or maybe just getting the basics. Don’t forget about the Vagina Village: learning about self-care and making the switch to reusables during menstruation. There is also a Loss Mama Sanctuary for those who have experienced loss. Something for everyone.
2. Check out the snacks
I never really paid attention to the snacks that they supply mainly because they were gone before I had a chance to sample! This time, I stopped and picked up one of each just to make sure I tried them. I’ve always heard good things. This is where I found one of my new favorites: Don’t Go Nuts granola bars. They handed out the Gorilla Power granola bars and now Olivia and I can’t get enough.
