It is officially spring!
I’m so excited for warm temps and the flowers to come back. However, with a new season brings new issues when it comes to driving. Here are a couple of tips to be sure to drive safe this and every spring.
Go around Potholes
Deep potholes can throw your car out of alignment. It can also be worse; forcing you to buy a new wheel and a new tire. I’ve been there. Be on the lookout and avoid if at all possible.
Avoid driving through large puddles
Driving through water can impair your brakes, cloud your vision, or cause you to hydroplane. It could also be covering a pothole which could damage your car as well and cause an accident. I’ve also been there. Nighttime, rain, and potholes don’t mix.
Share the road
Warm weather brings out motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.
Keep your tires properly inflated
Full tires can limit the amount of damage caused by road hazards. You can have your dealership check your tires anytime you take it in. Most places will do it for free!
Watch the impact of Medication
With spring brings allergies! Most over the counter medications have side effects that can affect your ability to drive. Make sure you pay attention to them before getting behind the wheel, especially if your allergies are really bad at the time.
If you follow these tips, you’ll be sure that you and your car will make it through the summer looking and feeling great! If you are worried about gas mileage, don’t be! Check out this post on ways to get better gas mileage this spring.
