3 months almost seems like a lifetime

My beautiful Olivia is now 3 months old. 3 months, 10 lbs, 24 inches.

I can’t believe 3 months have passed since the birth. It has been a little rough, I can’t say at all that it has been all roses and daisies. I think she might be my hardest baby yet. Hayden and Noah were both on a schedule and it worked out pretty well. We had a couple of nights where they just wouldn’t go to sleep, but overall, I knew when I could get things finished and when I couldn’t. Especially with Hayden.

But Olivia is different. She decides when she takes a nap and when she doesn’t. It also differs by day as well. I could have a day where she takes a three 2 hour naps during the day, then sleeps from 10-8. The next day, she’ll take 3 20 minute naps and scream for an hour around 7 pm.  I never know what kind of day I’m going to get. She keeps me on my toes.

She’s also the type of girl who loves to be held, just like her mom. That is slowly becoming a problem for me, though. I have work to do and holding Olivia is fun but I can’t type and hold a baby. As long as she’s fed and has on a clean diaper, she will be content sitting in her bouncer for about 20 minutes. That gives me about enough time to pump (I’m working on my milk supply but that’s another post) and maybe throw a load of laundry in.

I’m super thankful that we haven’t had any major issues with Olivia in her first 3 months. She’s happy, so mommy is happy. Unfortunately, a cousin of my sister in law lost her baby girl at 2 weeks old to SIDS so I take every day as it’s granted.
