A Few steps forward and 1 step back

May 31, 2017 by Ashley T

This is a post sponsored by Nutrisystem. I am part of the #NsNation Blogger program. All opinions are my own.

I’ve finished 7 weeks of Nutrisystem.

I want to start with how much weight I’ve lost since I skipped a week. I was at an event last week so I didn’t post an update. This is why I want to post the weight first, so I can explain.

UPDATE ON MY WEIGHT LOSS (AS OF MONDAY, MAY 29TH)

CURRENT WEIGHTLOSS THE LAST 2 WEEKS ON NUTRISYSTEM: 1.4 LBS

TOTAL WEIGHTLOSS OVERALL: 21 LBS

Instead of losing about 4-5lbs in the past 2 weeks which has been normal for me, I lost, then gained, then lost again.

I went to a day and a half event which was all about food. After chatting with 2 people from Nutrisystem before leaving, I thought I could handle it. And I did better than I probably could have. I think my first mistake was waiting too long to eat lunch. I filled my plate with food not thinking how much I’d be eating. I didn’t eat it all, I watched myself. But I did eat too much.

Then there was more food to try… and more. We did a restaurant tour that night and it was all so delicious that I didn’t stop myself soon enough. Plus, I didn’t pay enough attention to everything in the food.  The next morning, I watched my breakfast and lunch… only drank water. And went back to Nutrisystem food when I got home.

The key is to know your limits and watch what you eat.

I have a couple more small events coming up and I want to share some of my plans with you.

know your limits

  • Overplan– If you think you’re ready, you might not be. Keep planning and be prepared.
  • Take some of your Nutrisystem food with you– I didn’t, because I knew I’d have nowhere to prepare it but my next trip I will be. I will be in control of what is ordered this time so I can make sure it is all ok.
  • It takes a while to feel full– Remember, it takes a while to feel full. Stop eating and wait, then continue if you are still hungry. Especially if you have no control over the menu. You don’t want to overeat and eat way more calories than accounted for.
  • Try and exercise– If you can’t get to the gym, try to walk around as much as possible. You can work off any extra calories while staying fit.

I’m happy I still lost weight and happy to continue working on losing weight and improving my healthy. Keep at it like I am!
