I’ve bought a new car a couple times (yes, we’ve owned 3 brand new cars) and I have to admit; Some of these myths I didn’t know. However, you learn as you go (as I have) and I wanted to make sure I shared with you all. I mean, you never know when and who needs this information.

Special Ordering a Vehicle Will Cost More
If you want something even if it is special order, go for it! It doesn’t cost more; only the cost to add what you want. Dealers like Kim’s Chevrolet will do what they can to make sure you get what you want. Their job is to make sure you get what you want and you can get it within your budget.
Paying Cash Will Get You a Better Deal
This isn’t always true. Yes, you would save money paying cash when buying a used car (because of the interest difference) but overall, the dealership makes more money on a new car than a used one. This leads to the next myth:
End of Month Purchases Save You Money
This also isn’t always true. The best time to look for the best deal is when sales are offered. Perfect timing would be President’s day, Labor day, or when they are trying to get rid of the previous year’s models. Check the price history and do your research to get the best deal.
Service Your Car at the Dealership You Bought It From
Nope, you can schedule service where ever and with whomever you want. Yes, you may get coupons and things from the dealership’s service center which is great. However, you don’t have to take your car there. Do what’s best for you and your car.
