4 Educational Experiences for Your Kids in New York City

March 6, 2020 by Ashley T

Going on holiday with your children definitely needs to involve a lot of fun and relaxation time. There are also lots of opportunities to learn when you go away with your kids too. Incorporating some levels of education into your vacation can really help them to get the most out of every place you visit. If you’re thinking of heading to New York City soon, there are so many educational activities to do with your little ones. If they are always keen to learn or you’re looking for ways to keep them engaged during your next family vacation, here are just some of the best activities you can try.

1.Ocean Odyssey

If you’re planning on taking your kids to New York City then you definitely need to pay a visit to Ocean Odyssey. This is a virtual reality aquarium that will completely mesmerize you from start to finish. Finding things to do with kids in NYC can be tricky because it can be extremely busy and there are a lot of places to walk to. However, with The National Geographic Encounter Ocean Odyssey, you will see sea creatures up close and personal like never before. It takes around an hour and a half to get through the entire exhibit, which is the perfect amount of time to keep your little ones entertained.

2. One World Observatory

If you’re looking for a way to make your kids feel amazed, then the One World Observatory is definitely a good option for you and your family. Initially, you will ride in a SkyPod elevator which takes you up one hundred floors in under 60 seconds. As soon as you enter the Observatory you will see a round the clock view of the stunning New York City skyline. It is super safe for your children to explore freely and you are guaranteed to make memories forever.

3. Math Museum

As long as you don’t explicitly tell them you’re going to a math museum, your kids are going to love it. With hands-on exhibits and investigative activities they will be fascinated with every aspect of The National Museum of Mathematics.

4. The Public Library

If you tell your kids you’re paying a trip to the library they might roll their eyes, but this is an entirely different experience. If you’re going to take your kids to the library whilst you’re on vacation, it has to be the New York Public Library. Not only is it a famous landmark, but it has thousands and thousands of books your children will absolutely love. There are also events for children all through the year, so make sure you check the upcoming calendar for more details.

From museums to libraries, there are so many exciting and educational activities to immerse your children into. A lot of the ideas above won’t even feel like they’re educational to your kids; they will simply see them as a lot of fun. Add all of these ideas to your bucket list when you head to New York City and you will never be stuck for things to do with your kids!
