During the holidays, we have so many different food that it puts your tastebuds on overdrive. If you are like me, you over-eat. I did for thanksgiving.. a lot. So I like to wind down the time between the holidays with foods that I love to eat but try to make them a little healthier. One of our favorite foods is pizza. Yeah I know, that seems normal for everyone but it really is. My favorite is ham and pineapple.
I am thankful to have found the Mezzetta products because I decided that instead of using pizza sauce like I normally do, I decided to replace them with their Sun-ripened dried tomatoes. The tomatoes are sitting in olive oil so all I did was break them up and use them under the cheese instead of the pizza sauce and it was delicious. So try it with me. And don’t miss out on the information on the Mezzetta Daily Gift Basket Giveaway below.
Sun-ripened Tomato Pizza

Ingredients:
- pizza crust
- cheese
- Mezzatta Sun-ripened dried tomatoes
- your favorite toppings! (you can also include the Mezzetta deli-sliced mild pepper rings or olives)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425. Spray your pan with oil and add the pizza crust.

Add your favorite toppings to the pizza. My favorite is ham and pineapple. The pizza shown below has pepperoni, mushrooms, and mild pepper rings.
Bake for 8-11 minutes (if you used premade pizza crust). Let cool and enjoy.
*While the pizza doesn’t have as much sauce, it still tastes delicious with the tomatoes. Try it, you will enjoy it.*
