My husband and I have come up with one of those delicious and flavorful recipes for hamburgers that we’ve used for a couple of years. Nothing incredibly impressive but we kind of make them like mini meatloafs but into hamburger patties and grill them. It makes for a fabulous hamburger and our family and friends love them. However, I wanted to continue to try different flavors in our hamburgers so I’ve come up with a veriation to our hamburger that includes on thing: Red Gold Tomatoes.
Thanks to Laura’s lean beef and Red Gold Tomatoes, I came up with a winning recipe for grilled hamburgers that even the kids loved. Sometimes they get a little picky because of tomatoes but they didn’t even notice them in the burger. Here is a simple hamburger recipe for you to try on your family… maybe even use for the summer cookouts coming up.

- 1 lb lean hamburger
- 14.5 ounce can of Red Gold Diced Tomatoes
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs (more or less depending on how the meat is sticking together)
- salt and pepper
Directions:
Mix the hamburger, can of Red Gold Tomatoes and bread crumbs together. Make sure they are well mixed together. Divide into patties. Grill (or cook on the stove).
Add your favorite toppings to your hamburger and enjoy.
Yes, simple recipe but delicious. Have someone who isn’t a fan of tomatoes? It doesn’t matter! I don’t put tomatoes on my hamburgers all the time because sometimes I just don’t want one however, you can’t really taste the tomatoes in the burger. Even Hayden didn’t realize there was anything different with the burgers until we told them.
Right now, Red Gold is hosting its popular Red Gold Summer Grillin’ Party that runs from June 24th – July 22nd on its Facebook page. Red Gold will give away a Large Big Green Egg each week, as well as 1,000 insulated tote bags. Head on over to the Facebook right now to enter.
