That state up north isn’t just the places that Ohio State fans dislike. It is a place you can go to enjoy some beautiful scenery, take a vacation and not have to travel too far away from home. The state line for Michigan is a little under 3 hours from Columbus so planning a quick trip with your family is easy and you can see some beautiful places.
Isle Royale National Park
Isle Royale is the largest island in Lake Superior, and is surrounded by more than 400 smaller accompanying islands. They have a beautiful lighthouse called “Rock Harbor Lighthouse” on the main island that would be perfect for photos. The whole area is beautiful and would be a great place to stop and check out.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is on the south shore of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s known for the dramatic multicolored Pictured Rocks cliffs. The water looks so clear and it would be the perfect place to rent a kayak and tour all the different rock formations.
Belle Isle Conservatory
The Belle Isle Conservatory is a greenhouse and a botanical garden located on Belle Isle. Bell Isle a 982-acre island park located in the Detroit River between Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario near the Canada–United States border. The park itself consists of 13 acres of preserved land for the conservatory and its botanical garden.
Mackinac Bridge

is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the Upper and lower peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan. The bridge is almost 5 miles long and has spots before you get on to take pictures. It is currently a toll bridge so it will cost $4 per car to travel on but I’m betting it is definitely worth it.
Kitch-iti-kipi, Michigan
Kitch-iti-kipi is Michigan’s largest natural freshwater spring. The name means big cold water and is sometimes referred to as The Big Spring. Its original name was the “Mirror of Heaven” given to it by the early Native Americans.
