Thanks to the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD), I want to show my love for the man in my life. He is the father of our children and my husband of 14 years. With this upcoming week being Men's health week and Father's day is this coming Sunday, it is a perfect time to talk about the role of fathers in the health of their families. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but we are currently done having children. That doesn't mean that I'm done ... View the Post
The beautiful Hocking Hills
This past weekend, I decided to take my family on a small road trip to Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. We live about an hour away from it and have never been. My husband has never been and he's always lived in Columbus so I had to see what all the hype was about. My mother in law talks about how we should go all the time so I finally decided to jump in the car and go. Since it was only an hour drive, it wasn't a big deal. However, everything I wanted to take wouldn't fit into our car. Being ... View the Post
The Magical Trip to St. Louis
This year for spring break, we decided to travel. We haven't done this very often. Matter of fact, the last trip we took together that wasn't to my hometown was to Boston about 3 years ago. We were still visiting family so it wasn't really a family trip. I was a little worried about being in the car with all the children at once, especially since Olivia is only 6 months old. He doesn't like being in the car seat for a long time which extended our trip. A 6 and a half hour drive took us almost ... View the Post
Prepping the House for Baby #3
I touched on painting the nursery when I talked about planning for baby #3 a couple weeks ago. As of today, we have (plus or minus) 10 more weeks until the newest addition arrives and I thought this past weekend was the perfect time to paint the nursery. Yes, the room had enough air coming through so I could help paint. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. My husband and I carefully chose the colors for the room.. with maybe a little bit of imput from the boys and started painting. Here's ... View the Post
October is meant for Pumpkins!
Last year I wrote a post about how we went to Lynd's Farm to pick our own pumpkins. We loved it so much that we did it again this year with my husband in tow. My favorite part of visiting Lynd's Farms is that we get to pick our own pumpkins. They have fields spread out with tons of pumpkins in different sizes and sometimes you have to search for the perfect pumpkin for you. We normally let the boys choose their own pumpkins and then we get just 1 for my husband and I... totalling to 3 ... View the Post
Converations with Hayden and Noah
Everyone knows that sometimes, one of the best parts of watching your children grow up is to listen to how the pronounce words until they get it right. Other times, its more like a waiting game, to see when they will surprise you with something that you didn't even know they knew. Both of my kids often do that to me. It's crazy how much they can mis-pronounce but at the same time, seem so smart that I don't even know where they came from. Check out some of these conversations between my sons and ... View the Post
