Change the way YOU see Kia

August 2, 2016 by Ashley T

Full Disclosure: I was invited to a Kia event. This post was not required. All opinions below are my own.

My first experience with Kia was back in 2003. To be honest, I didn’t like it. I was buying a car with my husband and we decided a Kia wasn’t for us. We weren’t the only ones: According to the JD Power Initial Quality Study from 2001, they were ranked at the bottom. After that, I never really paid much attention to the brand, until recently.

Kia
I was invited to San Diego this past week to check out the new Kia. They started out in the US back in 1994 and have been working to change the perception of the company ever since. I was so excited to go… not only because I’ve never been to San Diego (or past Las Vegas) but I also wanted to see the newest vehicles. My husband has been intrigued by the Optima but I was hoping to get a look at Sorento.

Kia Sorento
As soon as I took a seat inside the Kia Sorento, I smiled. So much space! Not only is there plenty of space in the front but space for my children to grow in the back. There is also an option for a 3rd row: giving you the ability to seat to up 7 people. Exactly what I’ve been looking for.

It drove like a dream. I thought it would feel like a huge truck but it didn’t. It handled great on curvy roads and when I pushed the gas, it went. Like seriously, I love that even with the air on, it did its job.

Kia Optima
I didn’t get the chance to drive the Kia Optima however, I was a passenger and let me tell you: tons of space in the back seat. I’m only 5’5″ but I’m sure my over 6′ husband could have sat in the back with no problems. And the turbo makes it go, literally!

Kia
I am so thankful to both Kia and Harman Kardon for inviting me to this event. I not only got to see Kia in a new light but I made some new friends with not only the brand reps but the other bloggers as well. If you missed my fun, run back through the photos on my Instagram: I posted some snapshots into our couple of days. Also, check the hashtag #thenewkia to see what other bloggers had to say.
