Delicious Stuffed French Toast on a George Foreman Grill

August 20, 2012 by Ashley T

This blog post is part of the “The George Foreman Grill: Show Us Your Grill Skill Recipe Contest”.

My husband and I had always talked about getting a George Foreman grill but never had the chance to just run out and get one. It was on our list of things we wanted but always ended up taking the back burner to the “list of things we needed”. Everyone raved about making things on their George Foreman that I felt that I needed to buy one. Thank goodness for this contest, it make me have to have one.

I was sent the  new George Foreman Removable-Plate Grill. It has enough cooking space to make 5 servings and super simple to clean. It also designed to make every meal a healthy one. I cooked chicken on it and made some pork chop. All were perfectly delicious and healthy for me and my family, but I wanted to make something that was delicious but I knew the grill would make cooking it a breeze.I decided on stuffed french toast. Why? Well, first of all, its not a normal meal you would think would be cooked on a George Foreman, right? I mean, you would always think some type of meat would be cooked on it right? French Toast is one of may favorite meals and cooking it on a 2 sided grill makes it easy and faster. I also had a easy clean-up. Any apples that ended up on the grill wiped off with a napkin and the removable plates fit right into the sink for washing.

Ingredients:
Eggs
milk
french bread, thick cut
apple filling (for pies)
optional:
powdered sugar
cinnamon

Directions:
Cut a slit in the top part of the bread, right in the middle creating a pocket.
Use a spoon to fill the “pocket” with the apple filling, as much as you would like.
mix the eggs and milk in a bowl to dip the bread into.
Dip each side of the bread into the bowl and place on the grill.
cook for about 4-5 minutes, until both sides are brown and the inside is warm.
Optional: Sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon.

I was given a George Foreman Grill for the purpose of this review and making the recipe. All opinions of the grill are my own. No other compensation was received.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you made that on a George Foreman grill! I actually haven't used mine in awhile but will now for this. We don't use a microwave at all but this looks fast too and easy clean up.

I bet a Foreman grill would work as a panino press, too! The French toast looks lovely...

I'd have never thought of using this for French toast, that's genius! Thanks for sharing, I'm going to have to give this a try. I don't have a Foreman grill, but my mom does, I think I'm going to have to "borrow" hers now :) Thanks for sharing.

That looks awesome! I used to have one (got it at a garage sale) and I loved it! But it was missing the unit that holds the grease run off so it all went on the ground. I'd love to get a new one someday.

I would love to own with the removable plates and intend to replace our electric frying pan with one when the efp gets worn out, glad you like it.
