If you are anything like me, you like to be prepared. You like to know everything you can know before making a decision, especially a big one. Yes, we are one in the same.
So, does this change when you are looking to buy a new car? Nope, not for me. I think I annoy my husband sometimes with how prepared I like to be before heading to the dealership. I like to have my financing in order, I like to know exactly what we’re looking for (and at) and I like to know what to expect. It doesn’t always help him.
So, did you know all these things can be done on the website?
No need to call and talk to someone. You can do your research online before heading in. Let me take you through my methods:
First, you figure out what you want.
I have decided on a Chrysler Pacifica. So I head to Chrysler of Culpepper‘s website to see what kind of selection they have. They actually have a hybrid! I decide that’s what type I want. I can actually click a button to see if it is still available at the dealership, I don’t have to call.
Check to see if you want your own financing or apply for theirs.
You can actually get preapproved through the website (instead of waiting and sitting at the dealership). So, you can make your decision there or you can go to your own bank to get your financing in order.
Don’t forget to check out the specials.
This is one place I’ve always checked. You could save different amounts of money depending on what your plan is or where you work. You could also get a discount based on where you have a membership. It is simple and could save you a couple hundred (or maybe thousands) of dollars.
