My family was gifted a visit to Play: Cbus in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
We are always on the lookout for things we can do as a family. With a span of 9 years between our oldest and youngest, sometimes it can be hard to figure out what we can all do and enjoy. There is always the chance that it is something that the oldest won’t enjoy because “teenager” or something that we need to find a babysitter for Olivia because she’s too young.
This is where Play: Cbus comes in.
Play: Cbus is an indoor adventure park located here in Columbus. I mean, who wouldn’t love a ropes course that you can do all year round? When we walked in, you can see the course to your left and right.. but even over your head. The boys were amazed, Olivia was not.
We got checked in and got a little bit of a tour. The boys and their father went off to check out the ropes course first… but Olivia and I took some time to see everything this place had to offer. We got a harness on to try the climbing walls. I think this is something Olivia would really enjoy but she’s pretty much afraid of everything right now so she wouldn’t even try.
The boys LOVED the ropes course. Paul, Hayden, and Noah spent the entire first half of our playtime up in the air trying out each section. Watching them reminds me of the last time I did a ropes course so I made sure to head up with the kids after dinner.
One thing she did enjoy was the Bouldering wall.
The bouldering walls are climbing walls that can be used unharnessed. While Olivia is a little young to do most of the wall, she did find a section that she could climb and make it slightly up the wall. She was so proud of herself for that.
They also had a kids ropes course that she could try. Once she got over her initial apprehensions, it was her favorite place to be. She practiced each section and even made friends with another little boy who was doing the course. I believe she did the whole course about 4 or 5 times the whole time we were there.
If you as a parent don’t want to participate…
There is food and a bar so you can keep pretty entertained. Our “Play” time was between 5:30 and 9:30 so we had plenty of time to do all of the areas and had time for dinner. We ordered some appetizers and sat down to eat. We ordered was too much.. you’d think we hadn’t but the servings were huge. I enjoyed a cider that I had never had and we got to chill and watch people play.
In regards to Covid: everyone had to wear masks around the facility and while playing. So, it kept the area safe for us. I felt comfortable letting my children play.
One last thing:
I got the kids to do the zip-line with me. We only did it once and it was super fun. If you’d like to see a video, you’ll have to catch it on instagram or facebook.
