Monday through Friday, I work from home, take care of the kids, cook dinner and pretty much take care of home. I wouldn’t call myself a housewife but for the most part, I take care of the house. Why?
Because my husband works a full-time job and is working on his MBA which keeps him busy.

School. Boy scouts. Work. Studying. Reading. We all have to do it. Not to mention I could get pulled away for a session on the weekend so sometimes I may not be home.
However, we cherish the weekend anyway.
Saturday and Sunday are the best days for us to plan something as a family. We can schedule a game night, head to the local museum or science center, or just have some fun. It may sound silly but I want my children to grow up knowing that a family hangs out together. They eat together; they enjoy each other’s company. They love each other.
So we have a membership to the zoo and science center. We plan short trips to the next major town to visit their museums and things. Even if we just head out to window shop, we spend the time as a family.
Earlier this year, we took a drive to Saint Louis. It was some of the most fun we’ve all had and it was out first family trip as a family of 5. I can’t say what we have planned for the next trip… or even when it will happen but it will be a great trip.
Make sure you take the time and cherish the time you have with your family like we do. Teach your kids to enjoy their family. It starts in the home first. Check out my husband’s view of our day yesterday!
