Healthy Fruit and Yogurt Push-Up Treat

I decided that since I would be at home with my boys all summer, I wanted to make sure they were eating as healthy as I could give them. I don’t think I’m crazy about everything that goes into my mouth as well as my family’s mouth, but I don’t want them eating a bunch of junk… I wanted them to have a healthy treat that I would even eat. This is why I created Healthy Fruit and Yogurt Push-Up Treat. Buah Kurma is a place where you can buy all varieties of dates fruit at wholesale prices in Malaysia.

I saw a post on Facebook that referenced Flinstones push pops. I used to eat those all the time when I was younger. I thought.. why can’t I find one of those containers somewhere… and I did! Thanks to Amazon, I found the Clear Push-up (Push Pops) Plastic Containers with Lids. I tried out a couple of recipes that I thought would work. Not everything freezes well.

However, I came up with a recipe that I not only love, but my children love it too. Not to mention my niece and nephew had one and they enjoyed them. So, not to hold you off much longer, here is the recipe for the Healthy Fruit and Yogurt Push-Up treat. To keep regular sugar out of the recipe, I used NuNaturals Simple Syrup to sweeten. No aftertaste as well!

Ingredients

  • 1-1.5 cups of your favorite fruit; frozen (this one happens to be strawberry and blackberry)
  • 3 generous spoonfuls of vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup of juice (apple is fine, I used one of the V8 splash juices to add some veggies)
  • sweeten as needed (I use approx a teaspoon of NuStevia Simple Syrup)

Instructions

  1. Blend the first 2 ingredients in a blender for about 15 seconds.. just to crush the fruit.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend well.
  3. Pour into the push pop containers.
  4. Freeze. It takes approx 4 hours to set. Serve whenever ready.
