I hate that I’m still having cravings.

It is rare but sometimes I long for those things that I ate all the time… before I was seriously trying to lose weight. Oh, you know those foods: your favorites, the ones you thought you’d never give up. The ones you could always count on having whenever you were happy or sad or any emotion that you kind of used to eat whatever you wanted. Well, I want to cover some of those mainly because I want to share how I am making it work with Nutrisystem.

  • French fries– I was a fast food crazy person. At least once a week, I was stopping at Wendy’s or Burger King just to get a quick meal. But my favorite part were always the french fries. With lots of salt of course. Now, I will admit that I’ve stolen a fry or 2 here and there in the last 6 weeks.  I can’t help myself. The difference is that it is only that 1 or 2, not a ton of them. Plus, when I am really craving them, I just make sure I have the loaded potato for lunch. It helps.
  • Ice Cream– This one is hard for me as I’m used to having some sort of ice cream every week. I tried to limit myself by buying a pint… I ended up eating a half a pint each serving. See? I’m not that healthy. Now, I haven’t had anything that wasn’t Nutrisystem approved. Except when we were out of town and I had a little bit of frozen yogurt. It was within limits though. I think I can keep this one up. I’ve been working on my serving sizes.
  • Wine– This one was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. I don’t drink that much to begin with so I just didn’t drink. The only time it was hard when we were celebrating. Everyone else has a drink and I just have water. I was a little sad but I made it through.
  • Bread– Oh man, I love rolls. Yeast rolls with butter. I’ve stayed away from them of course but I’m glad I at least get to have wheat toast with my tuna salad. Love!

Being on Nutrisystem has helped me shape my diet a little bit better and recognize things that I should be eating less of, especially when I’m at my goal weight. I’ve learned to problem solve better.

Example:

Paul and the kids took me out to breakfast for Mother’s day. To my favorite breakfast place in Columbus. I normally get a 3 egg omelet with a bunch of stuff in it, hash browns and pancakes. Never eat it all but yum! I checked my list of approved foods and went with some eggs and ham. I ordered pancakes but gave them to Olivia (since they came with my meal). I was so proud of myself for sticking to my diet.

If you find yourself in a rut, push through. I have made it my mission to get to my goal and I will do it. I’m not perfect ( ahem, french fries), but I’m doing my best.

CURRENT WEIGHTLOSS THIS WEEK ON NUTRISYSTEM: 2.8 LBS

TOTAL WEIGHTLOSS OVERALL: 19.6 LBS
