Our family has an extreme fascination with swimming. My husband and I were always around water when we were little and we’d love to do the same for the boys. But winters in Columbus don’t make swimming the best activity for any of us unless we spend the night at a hotel or something like that.
Just like last year, we got the chance to spend a night at Castaway Bay. Castaway Bay is located in Sandusky OH and is Cedar Point’s indoor water park resort! Can’t visit Cedar Point in the winter? Well, you can visit a place where it is 82 degrees all the time! We arrived for our mini-vacation a little bit late right before 6pm. After checking in and getting all set up in our room, we headed to spend some time with the other bloggers and their children! I was so excited to meet Willow (the newest daughter of Danielle from Happenings of the Harper Household) who is the only family member I didn’t get the chance to meet since she wasn’t born yet. We decorated cookies and towels and got to meet Snoopy! The boys enjoyed it but wanted to go swimming sooo badly.
We all got our bathing suits on and headed to the water park! As always, Noah is the first one to head right out and go crazy. Hayden is more laid back and loves to check everything out. Noah was the first one in the water. We only spent about 10 minutes in the toddler area before Noah decided to explore all the other areas. I didn’t want them up too late so we were back to our room an hour later but we were ready for the next day. Our room had 2 beds, which was perfect for our family. The boys shared a bed (with Noah surrounded by pillows of course) and my husband and I in our own bed. We got a snack from T.G.I Fridays before bed and settled in.
In the morning, we ordered room service before getting ready to go swimming again. The boys loved the pancakes and my husband had this egg omelet sort of thing that was so delicious! I loved my french toast although I wanted Paul’s omelet. Check out time was 11am so we got dressed for swimming and packed everything else up for the car before heading to the pool. Hayden’s favorite part was the wave pool. He was so brave and went as far as he could (with a life vest one) and rode the waves. Noah’ s favorite spot was the lookout lagoon family funhouse! He walked up and down those walkways splashing in the water. He also loves to help water dumped on himself so when the water was dumped, he screamed with happiness. We also got Hayden, the little boy who is always scared, to ride some slides. He loves slides now!
