This week, I asked my children what they thought cars would be like when they started driving. It’s a fun experiment to get your children to do because it not only is super fun, but it helps to jumpstart their imagination. Before we even got into the discussion, I had to show them what new cars offered. My car isn’t that old, but to them, we’ve had it forever. Because kids don’t realize 3 years isn’t really that long. My best friend has a Jeep Cherokee so I showed them how they look at East Hills Jeep and they got some ideas.
Noah: First of all, he thinks cars should fly. I mean, we totally would get places faster if cars flew and he really wants to go to California. He tells me all the time. He wants every car to have the internet so he can play the tablet all the time. He also needs chargers for the tablets because you don’t want them to die right? He mentioned going to the bathroom and I stopped him right there. We will always stop to go to the bathroom… no going in the car. Thank you!
Hayden: He was a little more practical with what he thinks should be in a car. When I mean practical, I mean game systems. He thinks we should be able to take the Wii with us. Of course, it would be powered by the car so we don’t have to buy a ton of batteries. He wants something built in that entertains his baby sister so he doesn’t have to do it all the time.
I’m sure if we talked for longer than 20 minutes, we would have had some outrageous things in the cars. Both Noah and Hayden crack me up and I love doing this with them. Make sure every once in a while you try to jumpstart their imagination with a question.
