Let me tell you, I love Mangos. They have to be one of my favorites foods. Seriously.
I’m always looking for a way to spice up any fruit that I love whether it be adding something to it or even making an appetizer for everyone to share. Thanks to Honey Bunches of Oats, I now have a new recipe that would be perfect to share on the 4th of July or any other get together we could have. It has a little bit of tart, some zest, and that delicious mango taste that everyone can love.
To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the lime zest but it completed the recipe so I don’t think I could make it again without it. Hayden doesn’t like mangos so he didn’t try it but Noah loved the spears. He’s eaten 4 since I’ve made them. So don’t think your children won’t like them, they could surprise you. Check out the recipe below and try it! You won’t be disappointed.
Sweet and Savory Mango Spears

Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted Cereal
- 4 Mangos
- 2 limes, zest and juice
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

In a food processor, ground cereal into a fine powder. Set aside.
Slice each mango lengthwise into 4 equal size pieces and remove outer skin. Insert a wooden stick into one end of each mango piece.
In a small bowl, zest the limes. Add chili powder, salt, and prepared ground cereal. Stir to combine.
Slice limes and squeeze juice over the mango pieces. Sprinkle each mango piece with the chili and cereal blend. Serve immediately.
