Now is the best time to start planning vacations and trips with your family. Heading out on the road is one of my family’s favorite past times but you have to know what your family will love and what is worth the drive before packing everyone up and heading out that door. It doesn’t matter where you live, you can find some beautiful places to head to in your car and be there in a couple of hours.
- Amusement Parks – I live in the midwest where there are tons of amusement parks within hours of my house. One of my favorite things to do is to schedule times where we can drive to the park and stay at a hotel so we get the most out of the park for a weekend. This type of trip would be great for a weekend trip (or possibly a 3 day weekend) for you and the family so you don’t need to take vacation time.
- National Parks – My generation doesn’t seem to appreciate national parks as much as our generations before. I’d love to just take a drive to see the Grand Canyon! We plan on taking our boys to see the Niagara Falls soon since we don’t live that far and I grew up an hour away from them.
- The beach – This is a great one for anyone. This type of road trip might require a stay at a hotel or resort (possibly making it a week long vacation) but you won’t be disappointed when you get to feel the sand in your toes. Now is the perfect time to book a hotel since its a couple months in advance. Great deals!
- Family – This may or may not be a road trip for you but for us it is. Last year, my husband and I took a week long vacation and drove to my hometown and to visit my mom. My mom lives 12 hours from where we live so it was a great trip, especially since we went to a city we have never been before. It was one of our favorite trips and we can’t wait to take it again.
