We don’t eat a lot of pork in our house. Not because we don’t enjoy it, but because I haven’t found a recipe that I enjoy enough to make again. Finally, I’ve found one. And not only one what I enjoyed, but one that my oldest son Hayden ate all of and then asked for more. This past weekend, I made Pork Tenderloin with a balsamic brown sugar glaze.
Yes, this is a crock pot meal. I do enjoy using my slow cooker so much. It keeps me from spending hours in the kitchen and back spending time with my boys.. even if I didn’t work that day. Lazy Sundays are just that, made to be lazy. So throwing something into the crock pot and coming back later makes the day better for me, and hope it does for you too. Hope you like this recipe!
Pork Tenderloin with a Balsamic Brown Sugar Glaze
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds Pork Tenderloin
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 Clove Garlic; crushed
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Balsamic Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Water
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
Directions:
Mix the seasonings and rub on the tenderloin. Place inside the slow cooker with the half cup of water.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Blend the brown sugar, cornstarch, balsamic vinegar, water, and soy sauce in a sauce pan and warm for about 4 minutes.
During the last hour, brush the glaze over the tenderloin 3 times (about every 20 minutes). Save the left over glaze to pour over the tenderloin while eating. And its ready to serve!
Let me know how you enjoy it! I have also seen recipes with ground Sage. I never really use sage so I didn’t add it to the pork. I don’t think there will be much of a taste difference.
