Vacation season is coming soon!
I mean for some people, they’ve been vacationing the last couple of weeks with spring break and all that but summer is coming. It is my favorite time to travel! Just pack up the family into the car and get ready to travel the country. However, sometimes it can be extremely stressful. Here are some ways to try and keep that stress at bay while on vacation.
Make sure you write a checklist before packing so you don’t forget anything.
This is especially important to us because there are 5 people to pack for. I normally have to the daunting task of packing for 4 of them so making a list makes it so much easier. Having that list makes sure you can double check your luggage before leaving and make sure you aren’t taking things you don’t need.
Your car must be in tip top shape!
Normally within a week of our trip, I take my car into my local dealership to get a quick tune-up, oil change and check to make sure there isn’t anything else that needs to be done. Sometimes there are times when they can catch something I don’t know about that could completely ruin a trip.
Have your child (or children) pick their favorite toy for the car ride
This is important. My kids get bored when we pull out of the driveway. At least they have something to do that will keep him busy at least a little bit a time. This is also why we stow the tablets until we need them.
Don’t forget chargers for the tablets when your child gets sick of the toy they brought.
Yes, don’t forget those! Our iPad hold a pretty good charge but the kindle doesn’t anymore. If we hide them until we need them, there is a chance the kindle is dead by the time the kids need them. Luckily, we have tons of ways to charge things in both of our cars.
Have fun!
This is the best advice I’ve ever gotten. If you don’t make sure there is some time to have some fun, you won’t have enough. Make sure you have fun!
