The Flip it top Gator grip cup by Nuby

October 24, 2012 by Ashley T

This review was part of the Nuby Mom program. I was given these items in exchange for an honest review. This post may contain affiliate links. This review is my opinion.

As your child grows older, you want them to do more things themselves, right? I mean, Noah does a lot for himself but when it comes to drinks, he would rather you pour him his juice and put it in a cup that gives him the easiest access. I want a cup that can move as fast as we can. So I tried Nuby’s Flip it top Gator grip cup.

This 15-ounce cup is designed for ages 18 months and up.

Since we are pretty much always on the go, we were looking for something that could travel with us as well as be easy for Noah to grip. He is 23 months old and is known to just drop a cup when he’s ready to move on. The flip-it top gator grip cup can handle it! See the awesome “Gator” grips on the side? It helps him keep his cup in his hands while he’s moving about. This cup also helps with the chewing issue we’ve been having with cups. The spout is hard so he can’t just chew a hole through it. Saves us money time and time again.

My favorite part of the Flip it top Gator grip cup is how the top flips open to expose the sipper part.

I always make sure its closed so that Noah can get practice opening it. It helps him work on his hand-to-eye coordination. The straw also reaches down to the bottom of the cup, which has always been one of my must-haves. Why would I buy a cup where my son can’t drink everything inside because the straw doesn’t reach? One problem a noticed after a couple uses is that the cup does leak out of the spout if its left open. Trying to teach a toddler to close a cup? Yeah, not working out so well. So we just watch the cup.

Looking for a cup that you can just clip to your diaper bag and go? (Yes, it looks like that can be done, can’t it? I need one of those huge clips and then I’m trying it!) Check out the Flip-it top gator grip cup by Nuby. You can buy one from Amazon for $5.99 and YES! It is covered under Amazon prime so no shipping fees.

I have 18 month old twins so any cup that can withstand chewing, throwing, dropping and NOT spilling while not being to expensive is a winner in my book!!!

These are really cute and look more "grown up" than most sippy cups, which I think my daughter would like.

Sounds like a great cup that can take a beating! :)

My daughter went directly from breast to glass. She never really used a sippy cup. My main concern with plastic tableware is a stale smell that won't go away. Even for myself, I don't like to drink from a thermos. It may be my imagination, but the taste seems off. But this does sound like a great product. I look for durability, ease of use, and, of course, looks.
