The Orb Factory

May 14, 2012 by Ashley T

the orb factoryMy kids love crafts. If they had their way they’d spend all day coloring, cutting, gluing, sticking stickers, or painting. Ideally, they would do all of them at once. So when I got the opportunity to review for the Orb Factory, I knew my kids would be in heaven. The products are all perfect for kids that love to craft. There are so many products on the website. We had a really hard time choosing just one thing. We finally decided on the Magnetic Mosaics® Jewels. Miss A picked it out because she “just loves cupcakes and sparkles.” Which is really what’s important.

the orb factoryMagnetic Mosaic line are basically magnets by number. Each kit contains a template, magnets and a guide. There are numbered squares on the template. Each number corresponds with a differently colored or shaped magnet. Using the included guide, the children are to find the proper magnet and complete the mosaic. It’s a lot like paint by color or number. Also included in the box was the magnetic backboard and a cardboard easel.

The second we got the box the girls were ecstatic. They couldn’t wait to play with it. Miss A kept saying “Can we please play our new game now?!” It took a few minutes for me to get all of the magnets separated and sorted into color and design. Miss A helped me quite a bit. I was really impressed with the quality of the product. The magnets didn’t appear to be strong enough to keep the template on the board, but they were perfect. The guide was easy to follow, even for Miss B. In fact, both girls worked really well together. Miss B doesn’t know all of her numbers yet, but I can see this really helping her. Miss A flies through the designs like a pro. She’s always asking if she can do one of her pictures. When they finish one they have a real sense of accomplishment. The best part of the Magnetic Mosaics® Jewels is that they can do each template over and over again. My girls love this product so much, we’re ordering something from Orb Factory for my niece for her birthday.

If you’re looking for a great gift for the crafty kid, boy or girl, in your life go check out The Orb Factory. I know you’ll find the perfect gift there. You can buy this kit ($24.99) of many more on the Orb Factory website or you can win a kit here! Fill out the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win!
