Homework is a part of a child’s learning routine and often one way for them to continue their studies outside school, possibly with the help of a parent. Being able to understand and retain new materials and information can affect kids negatively if they come under too much stress and it depends on the type of learning they do. Montessori learning promotes natural development and has been successful for a number of years. Montessori Method is great for kids. It also has to come from parents after school when homework time is allocated.
Often during homework times, even the most organized and intelligent of children can experience unnecessary stress linked to homework, and those struggling with mood, symptoms, attention problems or learning disabilities not become unregulated and unorganized which can lead to vicious cycles.

Use Motor-Sensor Tricks
Some children can be active and have a tendency to be restless and may suffer from ADHD or another learning issue, there are ways to make them feel less restless. Provide an exercise ball for them to sit on etc. Chewing as well as sucking can help to organize the nervous system or sucking on some type of sweet, to soothe them.
Incorporate a Timer
Some children have a difficult time getting started on their work so look at providing a time limit. This will challenge them to see how much they can achieve in a set amount of time. You can also try offering a certain reward if they are able to sit down and begin their work in the next five minutes.
Be In Touch With Their Teachers
Ask questions such as how long should it take for my child to complete their homework? If it is taking your child way longer than the expected amount of time, then maybe the amount is excessive. Maybe it’s overpowering them or they are feeling overwhelmed, then you could ask for alternatives to help them with this.
Take Breaks Often
For a little while after school, allow your child some time to unwind , keep in mind however that it is best to complete the project sooner than later. Provide snacks that are full of protein and healthy fats, maybe even some types of carbs that will help give them the power they need without adding sugar into their diet.
Offer Rewards
If your child is unmotivated, as often as possible, offer immediate rewards such as, once you are finished, I will play a board game with you. As video games are said to have a negative academic effect and can also affect time management, concentration and sleep, never use them as a reward. Perhaps get a homework buddy! Get involved with them!
Create a Space Which is Productive
In a perfect world, there would be rooms with only a desk, chair or exercise ball and white walls for children to do their homework in. If there are many auditory and visual distractions lying around, the more interruptions there will be. Classical music or white noise is helpful as long as they are kept soft.
