I remember when I was younger (or even just before we started having kids) how much I enjoyed amusement parks. My husband and I always talked about sharing that enjoyment with our children once they were old enough. Hayden and Noah are now the perfect age to start learning how awesome they are so we took them to Kings Island last weekend to check it out especially to see what Tropical Plunge is all about.
Tropical Plunge is a grouping of six different water slide experiences towering nearly seven stories. This is located in Kings Island’s Soak City waterpark. Yes, all this is included in your tickets! My favorite is the one where the floor drops out from under you and you just slide. I heard from a little birdy (a kid we talked to in line) that the yellow one is the fastest slide. Make sure you check it out! Don’t miss out on the other Soak City rides as well. We also did Rendezvous Run as a family because you can race each other. That was so much fun. We happened to be there on an especially warm day so just spending some time in the water helped cool us off. Remember, season passes can get you in anytime to take a quick dip.
When we weren’t swimming and staying cool, we spent our time in the main area of the park. Noah is finally tall enough to ride some coasters so we took him on ones we thought he would enjoy. Both boys agreed that the Backlot Stunt Coaster was their favorite with The Racer as a close second. Even if we weren’t riding, watching the coasters was just as awesome. Noah couldn’t ride that many of them (plus we weren’t sure if he was prepared) so watching coasters like the one below was special for us. All they would talk about was how they planned on riding them when they got older.

We were so happy we took the boys to Kings Island. This happened to be Noah’s first trip but both boys’ first time riding any of their roller coasters. The nap they took on the way home told me how much fun they had.Make sure you take a trip to southern OH and check out Kings Island. Looking for Kings Island Tickets? Head to their website. This weekend (June 3-5) is the Food Truck Festival! Who doesn’t love food? Kings Island also has Fire & Safety Days, special for the military, taking place August 26-28.
