I was invited on a blogger trip to learn about the Ohio Poultry Association and what it means for me and my family. All opinions are my own.
If you would have asked me my thought on eggs before this trip, I would have said a couple things:
I love scrambled eggs with cheese. I also enjoy a nice omelet if made professionally because I can’t make one to save my life. Eggs go really well in cakes?
Yep, that was pretty much my extent in egg knowledge. I didn’t try different ways to cook eggs because I thought it just wasn’t for me. We bought brown cage-free eggs because we thought they were better for us. And we went about our day. I have to tell you through, I am grateful for the time I spent with the Ohio Poultry Association and some of their farmers.
I tried so many foods I had never tried before!
Imagine an almost lunch buffet of deliciousness; everything with eggs in it. I mean, just put in egg on it took on a whole new meaning for me. I tasted a Fritatta, and B.E.L.T Pizza, and plenty more. I mean I had eggs for days. Here are some foods we made, tried and devoured before the afternoon was over.
My favorite part is finally learning how to make an omelet. Like seriously, it is one of my favorite breakfast items and I always messed it up. The key? Using water instead of milk! Water is for omelets and milk is for scrambled eggs. I never knew this! So now I make omelets all the time. Want to learn? Here is a video from the Ohio Poultry Association so you can learn as well!
I have one more picture to share.
Head over to the Ohio Poultry Association’s website to learn more about eggs and to find some delicious egg recipes. Don’t worry, I should have one coming up soon!
