8 Ways To Stopping Missing Breakfast

September 29, 2021 by Ashley T

Do you find that you always skip the most important meal of the day? No doubt, you have been told countless times the importance of eating breakfast to boost your metabolism, but no matter how hard you try, you just can’t bring yourself to eat a dreaded bowl of porridge. Or, perhaps you simply seem to run out of time every morning? No matter what applies, skipping breakfast is never acceptable if you want to live a healthy lifestyle. But don’t fret, as here are some top tips to help you kick start your breakfast habit:

Make breakfast exciting

If the reason you hate breakfast is simply that you don’t like breakfast foods, look for healthy, non-traditional breakfast ideas instead. After all, there are no rules that say you have to eat porridge or cereal for your breakfast. Why not opt for frittatas or a savory cereal bowl?

Eat first, get ready second

One of the most effective ways to make sure you do not skip breakfast is to eat before you get ready. Otherwise, you will take longer getting ready, and miss out on the time required to eat your breakfast. You can also spend some time in the morning prepping dinner, such as making a delicious steak marinade or prepping for the slow cooker.

Break your meal into small snacks

You don’t need to start the day with a large breakfast. If you are someone who does not particularly like eating in the morning, have a shake or a small piece of fruit. You can then have something else an hour or so later.

Include some protein

Protein is so important, as it keeps you mentally alert and satisfied. You will that you eat less throughout the day if you start your mornings with a good dose of protein.

Shop savvy

If you are someone who heads to the grocery store without a shopping list and simply sticks whatever they fancy into their trolley, it is time to change this. Plan what you are going to eat throughout the week so that you can make sure there is always something for your breakfast.

Get up 15 minutes earlier

If the reason you are skipping breakfast is that you find yourself dashing out the door to work every morning, get up 15 minutes earlier. You won’t notice the 15 minutes less you have had in bed, and it will make a massive difference to your day. You will give your system a chance to wake up and, of course, your body will have received the fuel it needs for the rest of the day.

Have a smoothie

There are so many delicious and colourful smoothie recipes on the Internet. This is a great way to get all of the nutrients you need without feeling like you have eaten breakfast.

Cook ahead

One of the best ways to make sure you eat breakfast every morning is to prep, bake, or cook ahead of time. Take some time out of your weekend to prep your breakfasts for the week. This will ensure you do not need to do a lot before work every day.
