It has seriously been 6 years since I’ve had a massage. I scheduled one for myself when I was pregnant with Noah and enjoyed it. However, I never made the time to schedule any other appointments for myself. I thought about it often but just never did it. So I finally got the chance to schedule myself a full body massage at Massage Envy in Blacklick OH.

I knew going in that I had a lot of tension in my back but I was really going for relaxation efforts. I’ve been kind of stressed the last couple of weeks so a massage is just what I needed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, offered some water, and asked to fill out a form that covers what the visit will be helping. The whole point of the visit is to make you comfortable and to relax.
I met Michelle before we entered our room. She was super nice and wanted to make sure I was comfortable before we got started. The room itself is a little cold but they make up for that. The table has a heater on it to keep you toasty warm. If it’s too much, they can turn it down or off. You strip down to what you feel comfortable wearing. Because they use lotion during the massage, anything you leave on will be in the way… just a warning.
The next hour was fantastic.
Michelle concentrated on my shoulders and upper back (since they had the most tension) but worked all over. A medium pressure worked well for me, although it hurt a little when she was working on the high tension areas. I do know that I was the most relaxed than I have been in a long time. I totally recommend Michelle, she is awesome! I was given a wellness massage plan before leaving which includes recommendations for the future. Don’t worry, I will be back.

Some tips for massages in case you plan on scheduling an appointment with Massage Envy:
- Don’t do a ton of walking before your massage: It will make your calfs and feet muscles tight.
- Arrive early to make sure you have plenty of time for relaxation.
- Ask questions! If there is something you don’t understand or don’t like, say something.
- Relax before and after your massage. You will enjoy it more.
- Hydrate after your massage.
