Now that Christmas is over, I’ve been thinking about what to do about the next year. I’m not a huge resolution person but I like to have goals and try to meet them before the year is over. I think it’s important to have goals but not to make them specific to the year. For instance, I’d love to lose some weight but I’m not going to say it’s my resolution to lose “x” amount of weight. I’m setting myself up for failure. And then making myself feel bad if I just don’t do it.

Plan the year/your time
This year, I attempted to use 3 planners to organize my life a little bit. It didn’t end up working out for me. However, I use 2 right now and it seems to be working out much better. I have a tiny planner that I use to keep track of my part-time job’s hours. A pocket planner works out best for me. That way, I can write down my hours and any notes I might need to remind me of something I need to do later on in the week.
For blogging and school, I use a Ban.do planner. I put in important dates and write down when assignments are due. When it comes to my blog, I can keep track of sponsored content I need to write and when I will get paid. When it comes to family things, we sync our icalendars (since we use Apple products). That way, we can add doctor’s appointments to each other’s calendars without any trouble. And change them just as quickly.
Want to Lose Weight? Be Realistic
So, I know I did the whole NutriSystem thing and I loved it. But I gained some weight back since finishing. It happens. So, I want to start getting healthy again and losing weight. No specific amount but getting back into the gym is important and working on my diet. This includes my family’s diet as well. We need to do better.
I will be sharing as much as I can to keep myself accountable but also making sure I just do what feels great for me. It isn’t about anyone but myself.
Taking Time for Yourself
This one is important. I’ve said more than once that I don’t take enough time for myself when it comes to self-care. So, I end up tired and stressed. My husband urges me to take time for myself and there is always some reason why I didn’t. So, we talked and I’m planning on picking something just for me. Not sure what but I’ll update as soon as I figure it out.
Meal Plan when you can
I haven’t talked about this often but I meal plan every week. It guarantees that I don’t overspend when I go grocery shopping. It also minimized my grocery budget by a lot. I used to spend up to $800 a month on groceries. Now, it is closer to $400-500 a month. How? I plan. I will be posting an update on how that is done and creating a meal printable that you can share.
There is plenty more that I want to share this year and I’m hoping to make sure and open up a little more than I have in the past. This is a personal blog and I want to add more personal things to it as well. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
