My son’s first day of kindergarten.
I started this blog as a journal about my son who was turning 1 the day after I wrote my first post. Hayden Alexander is my first little boy.. the most independent little boy I know. This picture is from over 4 years ago… during his birthday party when he was coloring.
And this is a picture of him today. Heading into school for his first day of kindergarten.
I am so proud of my son. So proud! He is so excited to be going to school and I’m excited to be waiting for him when he gets out of school today. I promise not to be sitting in my car crying while I wait for school to get out. I promise not to embarrass him completely when they let the kids out of school by kissing him or being a mom. I promise to ask him how his day was when we are safely in the car. I promise to let him call his meemaw (my mom) to tell her how his day went. I also promise to be there all year to help him with his homework so he can learn what he needs to move on to the next year. I promise to help him learn to read so by the end of the school year, he can read me a book before bed. I also promise to cry whenever that happens.
I always knew that being a mom was hard and this is one of the hardest things I had to adjust to. I wish I was there with him, holding his hand. But I can’t be there. What I can be is supportive and that’s exactly what I will do. Now excuse me while I cry cause my oldest son is in school! Ah! 🙂

Congrats! He’s so handsome!
Awww, he’s such a cutie! And how amazing that you started your blog right before he turned 1. Isn’t it amazing, watching how they’ve both grown over the years – your blog and your son? Happy first day of kindergarten to your big boy!
So great to meet you via #VZWSM! 🙂

Awww, hang in there, looks like you’ve done a great job with him! He looks so excited to be starting school. Time does fly, my youngest started school this year too. Time flies, but when we realize it, it makes us appreciate the the moments we have with them even more. Thanks for sharing your pics, they made me smile 🙂
He is adorable! It gets easier to send em to school, I’m sure of it!
Awww! What a cutie! Congrats on raising a great kid. I’m sure you’ll both be just fine. 🙂

It really is a difficult time and way back when mine were little, I cried when allI 3 went to kindergarten. Then, it starts all over again when we have grandchildren. My grandson started kindergarten also this year but last year, he went to Pre-K. Once again…tears. I guess that’s just how us mommy’s and grandma’s are…softies! We can’t help but love our babies and want to be there every step of the way. He looked adorable and like he was ready. Very handsome little guy he is
