I use writing to help me release a lot of things including anger and confusion. Yes, blogging helps me get through some decisions I might need to make, even in the post never goes live. Writing everything out has always helped me continue to be who I am. I even re-write lists when I have the time because it makes me remember. But I have times where I’m just stuck because writing at the same place all the time is not the best thing to help your creativity. So I always have a different place to write every week. These are my top favorite places to write. This happens to be my primary place of thought 🙂
- Local Coffee Shop– I went to a Starbucks one afternoon and wrote 3 posts faster then I ever have. I think it was the quiet chatting in the background that helped… and maybe the caffeine as well.
- A Library or bookstore– Both these places are perfect for a some quiet time for writing. However, if you are a snacker, it might not be the best for you.
- A park– I love parks. I love the sounds of kids playing in the park so its always the perfect background to writing for me. Always make sure you have a hotspot if you need everything scheduled right away though. Otherwise your best bet is to save on your word processor and paste where you need it later.
- A Mall– I know that sounds a little bit weird but if you can deal with the noise, its a great place to write. Just find a seat and go.
- On your break or lunch– I have written great starters to posts when eating lunch. For me, its a great time to get my mind off of work and out of the building for the 30 minutes that I have to myself.
- A College Campus– No, I’m not telling you to go into a campus building and just hang out. Ohio State’s campus is beautiful and I could totally do a photography post alone just walking around the campus. But I’ve sat outside in the summer with my computer or even just a notepad and just wrote whatever came to mind.
Any special place that just opens your mind to whatever you want it to wonder. Get creative and share with me and my other readers.
