I’ve always loved writing. I have always had a notebook, journal or anything like that in my purse or bag I carry around. Its a must-have. Right now I happen to have two! When I was younger, I collected journals by the dozen… if they were pretty, I had to have it. Then I would write poetry in every single one. I never really read my poetry outloud or even knew if any of it was good. I also haven’t written any in a while. Nothing has stood out enough for me to like it. Plus, I’m pretty busy with both my boys and my husband.
I wanted to share my 2 favorite poems that I wrote when I was younger. It was before I got married, but I’m not sure when I wrote them. They may have been around the same time but I’m not really sure. Anyway, here they are:
Raindrops
As the raindrops fall
They mingle with the tears in my eyes
And it comforts me to know
God cries with me as i cry
For myself
Sadness engrosses me
But as my tears dry up
And the sun comes out
I realize that a kiss from a rainbow
Is better than a slap from thunder
Life
Life is different
it has a meaning
we were all put on this earth
to find our meaning
that is why were have problems
Life is different
it sends us on our way
we were put on this earth
to find what our way is
that is why we get lost
Life is different
it shows us our purpose
we were put on this earth
to find our purpose
that is why we get defeated
Life is different
it shows us the life inside of us
we were put on this earth
to live and…
to die
I’m not the perfect writer, and I would never claim to be. I make tons of typos and sometimes no one even understands what I’m trying to say. Sometimes I press “publish” before I even proofread. So, I’ve picked up the habit of proofreading because I suck at it myself. Hey, I’m not afraid to get some help every once in a while. 🙂
