I was given passes to see the screening of this movie. All opinions listed below are my own.
I realized on my way to see this movie that I have to admit to something:
I love comic books that are turned into movies.
I never paid much attention to it until recently but I’m the type to watch every since movie that used to be a comic book. I may not like them all, but I’m interested in seeing what they did to it and how they adapted it to be big screen. I have to say that I am pleased with what Marvel (and Disney) has done with the Avengers. So of course I went (along with my husband) to check out the newest installment: Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” in theaters April 4, finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy–the Winter Soldier. ~Taken from the Marvel website
My review:
My husband was very hesitant to be excited for this movie. Not because he thought he wouldn’t like it, but because he wasn’t sure if Captain American deserved a movie of his own. Of course, we know he had a previous movie. But That doesn’t mean that this one would be good. However, he sat down with me and watched.
I enjoyed the whole thing. It was a movie filled with action and just enough drama. I love how humble Steve Rogers is.. and how he takes his role in saving the world so seriously. The black widow adds her sass.. love her. And the Falcon is a great ally to add into this movie. Nick Fury is always Nick Fury but you learn that he can’t trust everyone you think he can trust.
Check out Captain America: The Winter Soldier in theaters today. You can also follow along through social media on Facebook and Twitter.
