Last week, I had the chance to head to Las Vegas. I’m 31 years old and this was my first chance to head to that side of the country. I was excited and nervous to be traveling so far by myself (and being on a long 4 hour flight) but I smiled everytime I thought about it because on the other side of the 4 hour flight was my husband’s face.
The day after my birthday, my husband left on a business trip to Vegas leaving all of us back in Columbus for the week. He was gone through Saturday. I was happy he was able to go on this trip but sad that the only communication with is pretty much would be through text during the day and facetime after his meetings were done. He got to say hi to the boys once a day.
I didn’t want to leave my boys…. especially since their father was gone. However, everything I had heard about Vegas was pulling me that direction. So I bought a plane ticket to head to the west coast during the only time I didn’t have something scheduled. I’m lucky my mother in law is willing to take care of the boys while we’re out of town so they wouldn’t miss school. An early morning 6:45am flight and I was on my way to a 24 hour Vegas trip.

Since my husband still had his work stuff, I spent the day by myself until he was done. The breakfast buffet was calling me. After breakfast, I hung around the hotel until a shuttle was available to take me to the strip. We were staying at the Palms resort.. which obviously isn’t located on the strip. I was excited to walk the strip during the day but I was also excited to see it at night.

The temp quickly climbed to 95 degrees so I was only on the strip for a little under 2 hours. I found a wonderful mall and had a delicious non alcoholic drink but I felt like I wanted to go swimming before the pool closed. The water was soooo nice! I no longer felt like almost 100 degrees and I got to relax. I headed back to the room to try and take a nap and wait for my husband. We planned on heading back to the strip for dinner and some sight seeing and I couldn’t wait.

The time with my husband was my favorite part of the trip. I didn’t mind walking around by myself but being with someone exploring somewhere you’ve never been is better than anything. He took me to a resturant with the most delicious hamburgers. We walked until we couldn’t walk anymore. We also did a little bit of gambling. I was actually up by $10 at one point.
Later, we entered the best casino in Vegas, where we tried to play a couple of games, to make some money. Luckily, we had skimmed through some articles on how to play casino games. Sites like https://www.slotsformoney.com are really helpful to learn the in’s and out of the game
