Bringing home the music of The Little Mermaid #disneymusic #enmnetwork

I’ve always loved The Little Mermaid. I seriously just watched this movie over winter break because I hadn’t seen it in a while. I enjoy listening to the songs because they bring back memories from my childhood. The only person I know of that doesn’t have fond memories of this movie is my husband.. only because he never watched it. Yeah I know, I don’t understand it either.

The Little Mermaid collection features the songs and score from the film by Oscar®-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman on Disc One, twelve work tapes and song demos performed by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman on Disc Two, and a collectible 20-page booklet.  Also included are liner notes by Alan Menken, John Musker (Co-writer, Director and Producer, “The Little Mermaid”), and Chris Montan (President of Walt Disney Music).

I was so excited when I heard Disney Music was releasing The Little Mermaid Legacy Collection CD. Not only would I be able to enjoy some of my favorite songs from the movie, but after listening to the whole CD, I realized that it pretty much takes you through all the music in the movie. The classical music that you never notice in the background of the movie is all here and you can see the movie playing in your head. I love it.

My kids enjoy listening to the songs as well. They don’t know the words as well as I do (and bring it up all the time to make fun) but they love listening to the songs they remember after watching the movie.
