Check out the GateKeeper *New* at Cedar Point 2013

I was so excited to be able to take my family to Cedar Point twice last year after not being able to go for a couple of years. Cedar Point was one of my favorite places to visit when my husband and I were young and able to take those roller coaster back to back. Last year, Cedar Point had the 14th highest attendance at the park in the nation (according to the Themed Entertainment Association) which is awesome since they ARE the Roller Coaster Capital of the World!

This year is super special however: This is the first year the GateKeeper is running! I haven’t been on the ride yet.. all the chances I had to go to the park, I couldn’t go. However, my family and I are planning a trip this year so we can take a ride! Here is a video of an experience of the ride.

I’m excited to visit the park this year because the GateKeeper has helped Cedar Point break 7 world records:

  • Longest wing coaster – 4,164 feet
  • Fastest non-launched wing coaster – 67 mph
  • Tallest inversion on any roller coaster – 170 feet
  • Longest drop on a wing coaster – 164 feet
  • Most inversions on a wing coaster – 6
  • Most roller coaster track at one park – 56,702 feet
  • Most rides at one park – 72

    I like Top Thrill Dragster, fast and smooth. I leave the rides like Mean Streak for the youngsters, my aging body can no longer handle that kind of abuse!

    I don’t have a favorite ride YET. I have never been to Cedar Point. My husband and I are both roller coaster junkies and have been wanting to go for years.

    My favorite attraction at Cedar Point is Soak City. I love the idea of getting in the water all day in the warm weather!

    Millennium force is my favorite ride of all time! Every time I get to go to Cedar Point I’m always looking forward to it! Their new ride looks amazing too 🙂
