Our day at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium

August 26, 2013 by Ashley T

Hayden started back to school this past Wednesday and because I didn’t have that many days off with him and Noah this summer, I took off Monday and Tuesday to spend the day with them. On Tuesday, we invited their mawmaw (my husband’s mom) to visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium with us. The last time we had been at the zoo was before Noah turned 1. I loved to babywear and seeing a picture of that visit reminded me to take the boys on a trip. Yes, I took a lot of pictures so travel through the zoo with us!

We made our first stop the Polar Bears! I love the new area for them. We thought they would be underwater trying to keep cool but they hung out just checking us out.

On our way back, we saw some swans (which we actually saw on the way there) and Noah said “Mommy Look! An elephant!” I spent the rest of the day telling him we’d see the elephants soon and that whatever we were looking at that those are it. We had the chance to stop at the petting zoo and Noah loved that. He didn’t get too close to the animals though, and I understand. I wouldn’t either.

Next, we went to the other side of the park where the aquarium was.. Hayden loves the aquarium. But first, we stopped at the penguins and the flamingos. I even got a photo of Noah’s view of the flamingos.. which reminded me to lift him up every once in a while so he can’t actually get to see things. Strollers hinder your sight sometimes.

May last 2 photos are my favorite. My boys will get to remember this day for a long time with their grandma. They don’t always get to spend a ton of time with her (or my mom) but I’m glad I was able to get a photo of them together.

And I always try to get a photo to remember the day with just the boys. My goal was to always photograph them around the same place, so we can see how they grow up. And I got the perfect photos. The first one was taken in 2011 before Noah turned 1 and the second one was last week.
