Need something to do with all those photo frame that you can’t ever seem to figure out where they should hang? I tend to buy a bunch of frames because they are on clearance and then they sit in a box in the closet of basement collecting dust. Then I want to do something special for Christmas but all I have are all these frames. Well, pinterest has me thinking of interesting ways of converting things I don’t use into something that I will. So I decided on a Kitchen Key holder.

This is what you’ll need:
- A frame: mine was on clearance for $5.88
- A bottle of black paint: $2.99
- a set of cup hooks: $.98
- a paint brush
- a ribbon
- 2 screws
I took everything out of the middle of the frame so that nothing would get paint on it. With this frame, I needed 3 layers of black paint. That way nothing showed through the frame. How many layers you need depends on the frame your using. After everything had dried, I used an electric drill to make starter holes for the hooks and screws (for the back). You can add as many holes as you would like. I used 3. I screwed in the hooks and added the screws on the back of the frame for the ribbon. You can either put the ribbon on the frame then screw in the screw while holding the ribbon straight. Or tie the ribbon to the screw once its in the back. If you tie them, make sure it is double knotted so it doesn’t break.
For the picture section of the frame, you can add whatever you want. I searched through my scrap booking box and found a rub-on quote that went well with the frame. Here is the finished product:
I would suggest to the person you give it to that they use 2 nails when hanging, it could end up lopsided (and fall) if keys are put on it with one nail. You can always personalize it to make it more of your own. Perfect gift for some who has it all or a grandma who loves personalized gifts.

HA – MIL has been asking to buy her one. Maybe I can get her to make one?
I made my MIL one for Christmas. She loves it!
Clever idea! Very clever!
I love it! We forgot to bring the keys out on our house last time and we had to sleep on the living room area. We have to wait for the locksmith to arrive the next day! Cost us sleep and money. I need to create this fancy keyholder so that it won’t happen again!
