I might have acted about 10 years old this weekend. Ok 10 years old with the ability to drive and pay for my own things.
My mother in law came over this past Saturday to help my son Hayden learn how to do the rainbow loom. We got him a kit for Christmas and my husband and I had no idea how to do it. Hayden even spent a night with his aunt learning how to make some and still needed help. So mawmaw came over to teach him. She had a couple of looms so I decided to give it a try… you know so that I can help him when the time comes. Bad idea.
I made one… then I made another. Then I drove myself to Michaels after the boys went to bed and bought myself a set of my own.. and some extra bands… and an organizer. Yes, I did.

Then I opened YouTube and found one that I thought was pretty… and watched the video. Then I tried it while watching the video a second time. Then I messed up and had to start again. Then I finished the bracelet… and started to look up another one before I realized it was time to go to bed.
I woke up in the morning and like a child, went down stairs to show Hayden what I had done. He was so excited that he found someone to enjoy looming with at home! Except, the ones I had done were too hard for him. So he just watched me.. and watched me… as a made 2 more from YouTube videos I had pulled up online. I have to mention that I didn’t learn the “regular” way until after I learned the harder ones.

Not only does this make me feel young again, but its a great stress reliever. It took my mind off of anything I was worried about and help me focus.
