My family was given tickets to a screening of Inside Out in exchange for a review of the movie. No other compensation was recieved. All opinions are my own.
My family and I are crazy about Disney and Pixar movies. So when given the chance to see Inside Out, of course we lined up to see it. All the previews looked totally awesome and definitely something that we would see so we headed to the theater to check it out. Want to know more about the film before I jump into my review? Check out the Synopsis below:
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school. ~written my Pixar

My review:
Overall, I thought it was a super cute movie. As an adult, I recognized the voices of Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith) and Disgust (Mindy Kaling) right away. It took me a little while longer to realize who Anger (Lewis Black) and Fear (Bill Hader) were. Every person brought a little bit of their own personality to the movie to make it great.
I also love how it teaches kids about their own emotions.. without really letting them in on it. Your emotions can go a little bit crazy but they are here to help you get through life. And it also teaches that sometimes your emotions have to work together to make you, you! Perfect thing to learn while watching a fun and super cute movie.

My favorite part of the movie? Mom and Dad’s emotions. Made me laugh everytime they cut to them. Reminds me a little of myself and my husband. Maybe more of my parents. My husband really liked the movie’s interpretation of how the mind works. He thought it was very clever and it was done in such a way that kids would say, “oh, that makes sense.” Noah said he liked all the funny parts and Hayden said his favorite part were the dreams. Here is the trailor if you haven’t seen it.
I think you should take your family to see Inside Out this weekend or in the next couple of weeks if you have time. You won’t regret it. I think Disney/Pixar did an awesome job and can’t wait for the next movie to come out. You can follow Inside Out on Facebook, Twitter and instagram.
