I was offered a ticket to see the screening on the movie in exchange of a review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
I’ve seen pretty much all of the Marvel movies the last couple of years. I love how so many of them are being re-made or just finally coming up and just being awesome! Because they are getting so popular, we were only offered 1 ticket to this screening.. which meant only one of us could go. Then I realized none of us could go because my husband had class, therefor, I had to stay at home with the kids. Thankfully, a friend who enjoys Marvel movies as much as we do was free and did the review for me. Thanks Andy! Check out the synopsis and Andy’s review below.

Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. ~From Marvel
Review:
Marvel’s latest foray onto the silver screen is proof that big things can still come in small packages. One of the main reasons that Ant Man stands out amongst a sea of summer blockbusters is star Paul Rudd, who jumps from his typical scene-stealing sidekick to superhero with ease and charisma to spare.
Rudd plays Scott Lang, a one-time corporate Robin Hood fresh from San Quentin who is down on his luck and looking for a way to reconnect with his daughter, Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson). After a series of failed attempts to walk the straight and narrow, Lang turns to what he knows best; burglary. Enlisting the help of a rag tag team of ex-cons, Lang accidentally discovers a strange suit that allows him to shrink to near-microscopic levels while still retaining all the strength of a full grown man.
What ensues is a dazzling array of action sequences that range wildly in location from top-secret research facility to a briefcase (yes, you read that correctly). This flick also sports a stellar supporting cast; Michael Douglass’ Hank Pym and Michael Pena’s Luis are both particularly strong additions. One relatively minor annoyance is that Corey Stoll’s brilliant research tycoon, Darren Cross, is a bit wooden and one dimensional; those hoping for something similar to his stint on House of Cards should look elsewhere.
Fortunately this movie has far more positives going for it than negatives—fans hungry for another Avengers movie will be excited by the inclusion of one particular hero as well as two post-credit sequences that hint at the future of the Marvel universe.
Perhaps the biggest reason that this film stands out from the pack is that director Peyton Reed understands Ant Man is a second string superhero—and has fun with it! Lang does not take himself too seriously and neither should we. Check out the trailer below.
