Our theme for this month is Soups. I made the soup below last week and I had to make another batch because my husband and I ate pretty much all of it for dinner. Its very filling and I would suggest having some cornbread with it. See it below? Doesn’t it look awesome? I’m telling you, you will love it and it doesn’t take that long to make.

B LOVES some northern beans! We call them navy beans (not sure why?!)
B’s mama likes northern beans and ham hocks.
I don’t like ham hocks, but I do add the farmland brand diced ham.
I’ve never thought to thicken it with a can of mashed beans…
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I got some white beans I’ve been meaning to cook since last week. Glad I found your site. I’d have to soak the beans now so I can try your recipe!
So glad I could help! Let me know how it tastes.
Thank you for this post and recipe. My Mom used to make a soup like this when I was young. She’s passed on and I an’t ask her for the recipe. But this looks very very similar! I’m excited to try it. I’m the first to admit that I am NOT a great cook, but I’m working on it and this will be a good one to try!
Also, I’m not familiar with blog hops or linkys. Is there a way to subscribe to them so I get things like this recipe and others via email?
