With all the conditions out there but our child can fall prey to, it’s hardly a surprise that, as parents, we tend to struggle. With conditions like ADHD, allergies, and various mental health ailments that can affect our children, even when they are very young, this places a lot of stress upon ourselves. As such, we’ve got to do everything we can to look after our child. And when we are doing our best to raise a healthy and happy child, this can be to the detriment of our own health. How can we raise our child to be healthy when we are not running at 100%?

Checking Where You Fall Down
Sometimes it’s the ailments that we don’t even recognize within ourselves to be our downfall. As we get older, some things don’t work as good as they used to. And if you’ve got a challenging child that requires you to be fighting at 110%, you’ve got to figure out the parts where you aren’t operating as best as you can. Sometimes it’s our physical health in terms of our strengths, but sometimes it can be due to our senses, like our eyesight or hearing. But as we can very easily get a pair of glasses even if we’ve resisted them before, or get hearing aids that aren’t even visible. These will give us a better chance of fighting fit all round. And the fact that there are hearing aids covered by a 3-year warranty means that you won’t feel like they are a major investment. A lot of people resist purchasing glasses, hearing aids, or even a gym membership because they are an expense that cannot be justified. But that’s when you have to start looking at your budget because this could be part of the reason you’re stressed anyway.
Assessing The Other Stresses In Your Life
If you don’t feel that you’re running at 100%, what can you do to rectify this? Sometimes we have other problems that can sap the life out of us. Even if you have a child that demands a lot of your energy and their efforts, if there are other aspects of your life that you tend to put off, sometimes the best cure is confronting these things. And also, once you start to tackle these issues, it gives you confidence, which improves your mindset, so you do feel better. Stress is never a good thing unless it’s a little bit of stress that gets you motivated. But in this instance, where you’ve got to be fighting fit as best as you can, you’ve got to rid yourself of the other anxieties. If it isn’t a money problem, coming up with a budget and a plan to pay off your outstanding debt can give you that sense of control over the situation. If it’s something like a friend who isn’t understanding of your needs, or you feel like you’ve outgrown them, it’s important, especially at this moment in time, to give them a wide berth. We’ve got to take a tactical approach to minimize stress. Because if there’s one little thing that’s going to drain your energy, and it’s not for a productive reason, it is not worth it.
The Power Of Scheduling
As humans, we have a routine built into us. If you find yourself waking at the same time every day, this is a perfect example of your internal clock. When you have a challenging household, or you don’t feel you are operating at 100%, a strict routine or schedule can be the thing that keeps you going. Providing you with that motivation, scheduling everything, even downtime, can prove to be a lifesaver. You know how much you have to do in any given day, and as we can feel overwhelmed by this, if we can break down everything into a manageable schedule, this takes the pressure off, and it doesn’t gnaw at our minds, especially if we’ve forgotten to do something. Even if you can do this Monday to Friday, and give Saturday that opportunity to do nothing, you’re still allowing yourself that luxury of downtime. But if you don’t have the energy to keep it up throughout the week, be sure to schedule in relaxation time. And if this is not possible, there are plenty of tools out there to help you, like meditation. There are ways to relax in a short period of time, but the important thing is that if you have a schedule in place, it gives you that motivation to stick to it, but it also gives you a better idea of how close you are to the end of the week.
Raising any child when you don’t feel 100% yourself is one of the major challenges, and if you look at these three areas, you are minimizing stress, maximizing energy, but also ensuring that you have a productive mindset which will give you that motivation to carry on. It’s difficult, but you will get there.
